If You Are OK With Average, This Is Not For You
PR pros are busy people. I know. I’ve been there. So in an effort to save you time, I’m going to be very blunt about who belongs in the Smart PR Inner Circle.

The bottom line is that we connect messages with the people that need to hear them. The way we do that is using media we don’t control.
So yes, it’s about pitching journalists with a story.
And yes, it’s about using the tools that social media gives us.
But it’s about a lot more…
And the more quickly you can train your mind about this, the more quickly you will begin to see the opportunities that most other PR pros miss.
To put it simply: Media is everything that communicates a message.
And in the coming years, as the old guard of mainstream media continues to lose relevance and impact, this understanding will become even more important than it is today.

You Need to Be Willing to Give Up Being “Busy” In Favor of Becoming Effective
It might not sound like that would be a problem, but for any PR pro who’s addicted to busy, it can be quite a challenge.
What happens when you double, triple or quadruple your media placements without working harder? Well, it can be a weird feeling at first.
You’ll still see most of the PR pros out there running around like crazy people, but you won’t be one of them.
At the end of the day, despite what we might tell ourselves, there’s only one thing that’s important in the PR business:
Are you getting the media placements you want or not?
Kind of hard to wiggle out of an answer with a question that direct now isn’t it?
If you aren’t getting the results you want, then you have a choice. Either you change something or you just learn to live with it.

How To Stick Out Like a Diamond at a Coal Convention
The secret is to have a process that works. That’s what I have.
Oh I didn’t have it all those years ago when I was grinding away at media relations. All I knew how to do was “smile and dial” trying to pitch. It’s probably no surprise that I didn’t rocket to the upper levels of the PR world.

How Adam’s One Pitch Landed Placements For Three Different PR Pros!
