A decade’s worth of habits … or habits worth a decade?

Your social feeds are likely full of reminiscing and reflection, but 10 years' worth, rather than the one-year window typical each January.

It's invigorating to see how much people accomplish in a decade. Looking backward, life appears to be full of monumental accomplishments and major leaps from one stage to the next. There's a temptation to project that way of seeing things forward into the future, telling yourself, “I've gotta go BIG this year!” and that the only way to do that is to make and keep outlandish resolutions.

But I have a suggestion: Do exactly the opposite.

Go small. Tiny. Micro.

Small? What do you mean?

I don't mean play, stay, or dream small.

I mean instead of looking for big things to accomplish big things, look for small changes you can make once. That – when implemented hour after hour and day after day – will yield extraordinary results.

Rather than dreaming of big accomplishments, ask, “Which habits are worthy of the next 10 years of my life?”

For example, picking up your phone 10, 15, or 20 times a day more than is necessary probably won't make the list.

Nor would toggling between the window where you do your work and your inbox, just to see if you missed a new message.

The habits you choose for the next decade won't come from me, but I do have a system that's helped me and more than 100 PR pros sort out – then make room for – what matters most.

I call it the 30-Day Work Smart Reset.

The Reset combines all my research on human productivity, with only what's actually worked in personal practice making the cut.

Sign up now. Today only, you can access it for a steep discount.

After that, you'll have until the deadline on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 5 p.m. Pacific.

Either way, come 2030. . . what you'll have is another decade's worth of habits. Which will you choose?
