I just got back from the PRSA International Conference, our industry’s largest event.
The vibe I got was very encouraging – in contrast to some recent years. In the past I’ve been critical of the collective crowd at this and other conferences for being resistant to change. But this time I witnessed a collective embrace of integrating PR with other components of marketing.
There was a great crowd for my session on “Earning Media Coverage for Your Owned Content,” and we learned together how to push ourselves further down the path of integration. And I picked up valuable nuggets from other experts on influencer relations, search, organic social, measurement, and other integral PR skills.
Great timing, too. I’m feeding all that learning into a free public webinar that will deliver a grand blueprint for what successful PR will look like going forward.
Next month marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Smart PR Inner Circle. That’s prompted me to drill down and synthesize the biggest PR lessons I’ve learned while leading that group for the past decade. But only those that you can and should apply immediately to your work right now and in the future. This ain’t no history lesson. Just principle-based, practical tips to get you closer to the career growth and fulfillment you want.
